Oxbow Creek hosts 26th Annual Arts and Academics Expo

Oxbow Creek Elementary hosted the 26th Annual Arts and Academic Expo on March 19. This event provided an opportunity for students to explore their unique skills, talents, and interests, and share them with the rest of the Oxbow Creek community in a supportive and non-competitive environment. Every student was encouraged to share an individual project, presentation, or work of art in any one of the various categories provided. Popular projects included a painting of a sunset, a photograph of the family dog, a creative writing story of a what-if version of Harry Potter, a history project of the 2026 gold winning USA men's hockey team, a mythical board game, a how-to video of baking apple hand pies, a drawing book of rubber ducks, a 3D sculpture of a dragon, a science experiment of an egg in vinegar, and a scrapbook of a day at Como Zoo. The event also had live performances of singing, dancing, gymnastics, piano, and dramatic reading.  

Volunteer judges evaluated each project, performance, and presentation, then provided positive and encouraging feedback. Each student received written comments and an award certificate. Most importantly, participants had fun and gained a sense of pride by sharing their talents, skills, and creativity with their fellow students, teachers, families, & community.
